How To Become A Cruise Ship Speaker - Jean interviews the very interesting Roy Paul

Rarely have I laughed out loud at a guest speaker on a cruise ship, but Roy Paul has a wicked sense of humour.

Roy spent 45 years as a Maritime Chaplain and Seafarers Welfare Provider. Roy was Chaplain to the Mersey Mission to Seafarers in the great maritime city of Liverpool and the ports of the Mersey.

As an advisor for a funding charity, he was able to travel to many ports around the world promoting seafarers’ welfare. Since early retirement in 2016, he has been a Cruise Enrichment Maritime Speaker. His stories enlighten the important role seafarers have played throughout history and in today's maritime world, from piracy to war.

He makes full professional use of illustrations, audio, and video and entertainingly presents maritime themes. His talks are easily adaptable to be destination-focused as he shares stories of great sailors who sailed on voyages of exploration across the globe and the important contribution seafarers make to today's World.

Roy began giving presentations in 2019. Since then, he has been invited to sail as a Guest Speaker with Cunard, P&O, Princess, Marella. Fred Olson, Ambassador. By the end of 2024, Roy had completed 40 voyages.  He has many presentations on a variety of subjects.  He always tries to adapt them to the audience.  He enjoys contact with the passengers around the ships and has a friendly listening ear.
